Church - What's it all about?

In the Bible the Church has three meanings:

1/ A community of Christians gathered together to worship God, with Jesus at the centre. (Rom 6:15) We gather throughout the week as small groups and together to celebrate Jesus and to further the gospel in Bangor and beyond.

2/ The name for all true believers in a geographical area (Acts 11:22). We are committed to working with other local churches and enjoy both joint services and prayer together.

3/ As the body of Christ; all believers alive and those who have died.  (Matt 16:18).  As part of the Evangelical Alliance and Rivers of Life we stand together with other Christians in this nation and the world.

Without Walls

As a community of believers we seek to live out the gospel in all we do; whether this is through our times of worship, prayer or the ministry of the word. The church is not a building, instead it is a community who takes the very fragrance of God with us wherever we go. In other words we are a church without walls.

What missing form CH_ _CH?
You may have seen this sign outside some churches in towns and cities across Britain. It is very true, the church misses you when you are not here. You are part of the body of Christ and, therefore, like any body which is missing a part of itself it cannot function the way God intended it to without you. “Lets not give up meeting together as some have done” (Heb 10:25) The church is living stones built together with Jesus as the chief cornerstone. If God had given up on the church why are eight of the books in the bible specifically written to churches? Why did Jesus talk about the church? Why does Acts give us the story of the church? And why is the last book of the bible so much about church? God has not given up on the church so neither should we.
